Make A Splash
Drowning is the number one cause of unintentional injury death among children, ages 1-17, in Washington State (WA Department of Health).  At the Y, swim lessons are helping.  Formal swim lessons are recommended by the CDC to combat youth drowning rates.  Youth of Color are not only more likely to drown, regardless of income level, they also have the lowest rate of accessability to swim lessons.

Beginning this Spring, the Everett Family Branch is partnering with Everett Public Schools to provide free swim lessons to all third grade students at Hawthorne Elementary.  But we need your help.

Many of these students do not own or have access to appropriate swim wear.  Join us by donating $15 to purchase a swim suit for one of our students.  Donations collected through this page will go to directly to purchasing a swimsuit for a Hawthorne student.
