For those of you who don't know, I have spent over 12 years working for the Y because I am passionate about serving others and working for an organization that is dedicated to making sure that they can provide a variety of programs for the community and help support families in need.

The Mill Creek Y has just kicked off our 2014 Annual Campaign and as a branch we are set to raise over $95K so that we NEVER have to deny an opportunity for ANY individual to participate in youth, adult and senior programs! Please help me reach my goal of $1,200 specifically in support of Youth Sports and other family and child programs.

Our family in particular has benefited greatly through our involvement with the Mill Creek Y youth sports programs! Beckett has not only learned various sports skills, built positive relationships and experienced what the value of teamwork is, but he has gained self confidence and pride in what he has learned. As a parent that is something you can't even begin to put a value on.

Please help support other children in need so they too will be able to have the same opportunities as perhaps your own child had. For $100 dollars you can sponsor a child through a season of outdoor/indoor soccer, indoor hockey, basketball or t-ball. YOU can help empower our future athletes with just a click of a button! Thank you again for your support and compassion!

Every day, we work side-by-side with our neighbors to make sure that everyone, regardless of age, income, or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.

We believe that lasting personal and social change can only come about when we all work together. That's why, at the Y, strengthening community is our cause.

With a focus on youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility, the Y works to nurture the potential of children and teens, improve the nation's health and well-being, and give back and support our neighbors.

At the Y, no child, family, or adult is turned away. We recognize that for communities to succeed, everyone must be given the opportunity to be healthy, confident, connected, and secure.

"Malaika-SO proud of you & the wonderful work you do! The Y was a such a special part of my family's life! I cant remember a winter Saturday that wasnt spent in one of the gyms playing basketball, either as a player myself, or as a spectator for one of my brothers or one of the many teams my Dad coached for the Y. I took after school piano lessons there, swam on the swim team. I could go on & on. It is a true joy to be able to give back now, in a very small way, to something that was such a formative & positive part of my childhood. I hope this might help to allow a child, who may not have otherwise been able to, have the same wonderful experience I was blessed enough to have @ the Y. Thanks for the opportunity to give back, Malaika! I'm praying you far surpass your fundraising goal, so you can continue to change lives in a big way @ the Y!"
