The YMCA is known as a family branch. This isn’t for use of promotion or advertising, this is because they are actually a family. I’ve witnessed all these hard working members of the Mill Creek YMCA branch come together and dedicated their time and energy all into their community. Their stories showed me how the YMCA has made them feel apart of a community, and some even developed lifelong friendships because of the YMCA. I was introduced to the Mill Creek YMCA because my mom is friends with one of the board members, Jason. I reached out to her because my Sociology class at Bellevue College does this great project in which they require us to get involved in community service, I thought this was such a great idea that I reached out to my mom right away about the YMCA. To be honest, I’ve never been too involved in my community before and I’m excited to finally be able to reach out and give back. Hearing everyones Y-Stories have made me want to continue to be involved even after the quarter for my class ends. I am apart of this team to help reach out to all of you in the hopes that you will assist in giving the privilege of a YMCA membership to someone who is financially unable to do so. I am excited to take this first step into the fundraising world and hopefully there will be many more to come :)

Every day, we work side-by-side with our neighbors to make sure that everyone, regardless of age, income, or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.

We believe that lasting personal and social change can only come about when we all work together. That's why, at the Y, strengthening community is our cause.

With a focus on youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility, the Y works to nurture the potential of children and teens, improve the nation's health and well-being, and give back and support our neighbors.

At the Y, no child, family, or adult is turned away. We recognize that for communities to succeed, everyone must be given the opportunity to be healthy, confident, connected, and secure.
