As you may already know our Annual Support Campaign has launched! This is were the Y raises funds for the facility and each department's programs. The Teen Department specifically raises funds for the Youth Development Center, the Teen Bus Run, Minority Achievers Program(MAP), as well as Youth and Government (YAG) and this year our goal is $15,000 for the whole Teen Department.

The Y provides a safe place for students 10-18 to hang out in the Youth Development Center Monday -Friday from 2-7pm. Along with providing rides from Park Place Middle School and Hidden River Middle School on our Teen Bus Run. In the Youth Development Center students have a vast array of resources such as computers, instruments, games and much more!

We also have a program called Minority Achievers Program (MAP). This program runs both at Monroe High School and Park Place Middle School. In MAP students are able to receive homework help, snack, as well as taking field trips around to different colleges.

Youth and Government (YAG) is another amazing program we run at the Y as well as partnering with local schools where YAG fulfills students Government credit. YAG is offered 8th-12th grade. In this program students are given the opportunity to create and debate bills. They also take a field trip towards the end of each year where they take over the capital and run a mock legislation session.

The Y is able to offer these programs and so much more through community members pledges. Please take a moment and consider pledging to the Teen Department at your local Monroe YMCA.

Every day, we work side-by-side with our neighbors to make sure that everyone, regardless of age, income, or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.

We believe that lasting personal and social change can only come about when we all work together. That's why, at the Y, strengthening community is our cause.

With a focus on youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility, the Y works to nurture the potential of children and teens, improve the nation's health and well-being, and give back and support our neighbors.

At the Y, no child, family, or adult is turned away. We recognize that for communities to succeed, everyone must be given the opportunity to be healthy, confident, connected, and secure.
