WHY INVEST IN THE Y?
At the Y, we believe that l
asting personal and social change can only come about when we all work together to invest in our kids, our health, and our neighbors. With your support and generosity, we can continue to address these and other pressing issues – and expand our work to reach more people.

Every gift makes a difference.  Everyone has a role to play.  Give today to be a leader in shaping the future of your community.

$5,000 Twelve families learn healthy living habits by participating in youth obesity prevention programming.

$2,500 Four children become kindergarten ready in a nurturing environment supporting early childhood development and parent engagement.

Kelly Shepherd's Story
The Everett YMCA is an incredible place!

On a personal note, it is where I choose to go to maintain my health. Gael Thomson inspires me to be better every day.

  • For the last 2 years, I have been on the Everett Y Board. Through this experience, I have first hand seen the depth and breadths of programs and financial assistance the Y provides for youth, families and our community.
  • Monthly a Y staff member arrives at Sequoia at 8:00 to bus our PE students to the Y for an hour of fitness. Each time Sherm, their teacher, and students returned excited about physical fitness.
  • At my school, I am known as the Y connect. Our students come almost weekly for a Y Teen Membership Application. For a student on Free lunch a teen membership is $17 a year.  There isn't a better place for them to hang out.
  • The Y offers financial assistance for family memberships. We were able to help a family receive 80% financial assistance for a membership. They were homeless and living with family who limited their shower access. The high schooler was struggling with attendance. She now goes to the Y almost every day, swims/works out and takes a shower. Since getting this membership her attendance at school has been transformed.
  • Y Communities partners with the family shelters in the area and brings families to the Y twice a week for quality family time. (As my family calls it QFT)
  • The LiveStrong program for cancer survivors and fighters stores inspire and challenge me.
I could go no about the impact of the Y in my life and our community. I invite you to join me in helping provide program subsidy and financial assistance to allow these wonderful life changing programs to continue.  All of you donations to to support programs like these!
