WHY INVEST IN THE Y?
At the Y, we believe that l
asting personal and social change can only come about when we all work together to invest in our kids, our health, and our neighbors. With your support and generosity, we can continue to address these and other pressing issues – and expand our work to reach more people.

Every gift makes a difference.  Everyone has a role to play.  Give today to be a leader in shaping the future of your community.

$5,000 Twelve families learn healthy living habits by participating in youth obesity prevention programming.

$2,500 Four children become kindergarten ready in a nurturing environment supporting early childhood development and parent engagement.

$1,000 Twenty teens build positive relationships with caring  mentors while receiving homework assistance and  exploring a variety of interests during after school hours and non-school days.

$500 An elementary school-age youth has a safe and caring place to go afterschool for academic support, games, and peer interaction, all aligned with their school’s curriculum, while their parents finish the work day.

$250 Four children gain water safety skills and confidence through Y swim lessons.

$100 Three children enjoy their first team sport experience learning the values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility under the leadership of their volunteer coaches.

Catherine's Story:

As a staff member working in the teen department I see first hand how this campaign helps to make a difference in the community.
All the programs we offer to teens (Minority Achievers Program, YAfterschool, Youth Making a Difference, Teen Center) are free so that they can have a safe place to be afterschool or in the evenings and this campaign helps to make that possible for all the teens in the Everett area.
Just $20 can make a difference in one youth's life by providing them with a 1-year membership to the Y.

This campagin is not just about how it helps teens, its about how the Y helps to build a strong community through the work we all do and the relationships we build:
  • Y Community -  provides access to the Y for families and individuals living in shelters or transitional housing
  • Actively Changing Together (ACT) - helps kids, and families, who are at risk at being overwieght or obese by prteaching them fun ways to eat healthy, be active and choose healthy lifestyles
  • Livestrong - provides a supportive environment for cancer suvivors on their journey towards recovery through active and social activities
  • Financial Asistance - for memberships or programs

Please join me in the fundraising effort for this organization and check out Jacob's story, just one of the teens who I work with:
