WHY INVEST IN THE Y?
At the Y, we believe that l
asting personal and social change can only come about when we all work together to invest in our kids, our health, and our neighbors. With your support and generosity, we can continue to address these and other pressing issues – and expand our work to reach more people.

Every gift makes a difference.  Everyone has a role to play.  Give today to be a leader in shaping the future of your community.

$5,000 Twelve families learn healthy living habits by participating in youth obesity prevention programming.

$2,500 Four children become kindergarten ready in a nurturing environment supporting early childhood development and parent engagement.

$1,000 Twenty teens build positive relationships with caring  mentors while receiving homework assistance and  exploring a variety of interests during after school hours and non-school days.

$500 An elementary school-age youth has a safe and caring place to go afterschool for academic support, games, and peer interaction, all aligned with their school’s curriculum, while their parents finish the work day.

$250 Four children gain water safety skills and confidence through Y swim lessons.

$100 Three children enjoy their first team sport experience learning the values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility under the leadership of their volunteer coaches.

Tanya's Story
The YMCA is our favorite secular organization because...
  •  We see the high school kids, teen moms and young families in the north end that need an affordable way to make healthy choices.-- from children and family programming or nutrition classes to work out facilities.
  • the Y SMARTLY partners with Young Life, YoungLives, homeless shelters, the alternative high school and other organizations to FIND the people in our community who need their services the most.
  • Keeps at-risk kids off the street. The teen center provides caring adults to work with kids on homework, or just a save place to be EVERYDAY after school.
  • We are all on the same level at the Y. Teachers working out next to doctors, next to the unemloyed single Dad, next to the teen mom, next to the Trinity College student.  Where else does this happen?  The YMCA provides a true sense of COMMUNITY.
We have been members of the YMCA for over 15 years.  I use the YMCA to connect with the other members and staff.
We know there are many worthy organizations to give to.  Please join Jeff and I in giving to this one.
